If you’ve ever been curious about what goes on at GAIA, the Game Arts International Assembly, do we have a treat for you!

Susie Buchan has put together a phenonemal glimpse into 2025’s sessions, workshops, scene reports and critical participant feedback in this 35 page PDF. More than just giving you KOMO (knowledge of missing out) it will also give you straight-up knowledge and many links to the game arts projects happening around the world — not just the ones run by our participants this year, but the ones that have been keeping them inspired. There’s even interviews and insights on how we coordinate GAIA. Flick through it today and start dreaming about 2027!

It was a great year for documentation all around at GAIN! We were lucky enough to work with director Tate Young who put together this joyful 3-minute banger about our June 2025 Toronto Games Week. We had 40 events, over 4000 attendees and international guests like Terry Cavanagh (Super Hexagon, VVVVVV), Adam and Rebekah Saltsman, founders of Finji (Night in the Woods, Tunic), and Holly Gramazio (Now Play This, The Husbands). Our collaborative event-series model has been successful enough that we also helped inspire the inaugural Montreal Games Week that launched in November!

Intrigued? Come visit us in Toronto June 11-17 2026 when the weather is lovely. There’s lots of opportunities to be on panels, do workshops, and showcase games, just get in touch.
